Michael Mullican our Managing Director. He is an accomplished leader with over 15 years of experience leading high performing teams while driving the performance of organizations focused on service quality.
Prior to this role, Michael served as the Chief Strategy Officer of Meijer Specialty Pharmacy, where he was responsible for Strategy, Legal Services, Compliance, HUB businesses, Payor strategy and Product Development. Ahead of this role, Michael served in multiple, progressive leadership roles within the Meijer Corporation as the Vice President – Business Development where he held responsibility over leading the development and implementation of strategic growth projects; Vice President & Assistant General Counsel, as well as having oversight of Meijer’s Quality Assurance and Product Compliance organization.
Prior to joining Meijer, Michael was Divisional Counsel for Charlotte, North Carolina-based Family Dollar Stores, Inc., where he was responsible for all corporate governance functions and served as legal advisor to the Board of Directors. Michael received his law degree from the University of Chicago Law School and his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University.
Paul A. Valenti is our Chief Financial Officer. He has strategically led organizations as a CFO for over 25 years with a track record of success in Healthcare (including specialty pharmacy, distribution, hub services and technology), software (SaaS and Perpetual License), digital printed media distribution & fulfillment, financial services and private equity portfolio management. Broad-based experience encompasses domestic and international start up, medium and large companies including Sterling Drugs, Ernst & Young and J. P. Morgan Chase. Mr. Valenti is a Certified Public Accountant with an undergraduate degree in Accounting from Fairfield University and an MBA in Finance from Pace University.
Ned Finn is our Chief Operating Officer. Ned’s extensive pharmacy experience across a wide spectrum of pharmacy, including pharmacy operations, PBM and pharmacy supply chain, allows him to bring value to the complicated specialty pharmacy industry. Prior to Meijer, he was Inmar’s Vice President of Pharmacy Services. In this role, he was responsible for the development of the strategy and execution of Inmar’s pharmacy programs. In addition he created and led the Inmar Healthcare Consulting team, focused primarily on specialty pharmacy.
Ned previously worked as the Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy operations for the Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy business. In this role Ned was responsible for operations and technology across all Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy facilities.
Ned also held leadership roles at Medco Specialty Pharmacy, led the joint venture with Accredo, and was involved in the Accredo acquisition. He has held director roles with CVS Procare and Stadtlanders specialty pharmacies. His pharmacy career is focused on building the specialty pharmacy business, reducing costs/waste in the pharmacy supply chain, and increasing profitability.
Mak Bagheri is our Executive Vice President of Business Development. He has over 24 years of extensive pharmacy experience. Previously, Mak was the CEO and President of RxBiotech Specialty Pharmacy and Beverly Sinai Medical Pharmacy in California. During his ownership, he had been involved in various clinical trial programs, was published in the Arthritis and Rheumatism journal, and had been a speaker for multiple organizations in the field of rheumatology.
With the evolving nature of specialty pharmacy, Mak’s goal is to expand the business nationally, introducing innovative products leading the way to the next generation specialty pharmacy. He is a registered pharmacist and graduate of the University of the Pacific in California.
Beth Anderson is our Senior Vice President of Information Technology. She has worked in the pharmacy industry for over 18 years. Her experience as a pharmacy software developer for many years served her well when she went on to be the Vice President of Information Technology at Allion Healthcare, as well as the Aids Healthcare Foundation. Beth brings extensive experience in IT stability, security, conversions and acquisitions as well as compliance (Sarbanes-Oxley, URAC, ACHC, etc.). Her prior experience, knowledge, and leadership skills have helped launch Meijer Specialty Pharmacy into a business-class IT environment.
Scott Friedman is our Senior Vice President, Trade Relations & Marketing. Scott has extensive experience in Specialty Pharmacy and Pharmacy Benefit Management, having spent nearly 18 years in the industry. In his role as SVP, Scott is responsible for the company’s relationships with pharmaceutical manufacturers, which include gaining access to specialty pharmacy products and other manufacturer service contracting and management initiatives that drive revenue and increase profitability.
Prior to Meijer, Scott spent 13 years with BioScrip, Inc., a national specialty pharmacy and home infusion company. Scott served in a number of senior management roles at BioScrip, Inc., including EVP of Sales & Marketing, where he oversaw Field Sales, Managed Care, Trade Relations and Marketing. Scott was also instrumental in developing BioScrip’s operational service model for manufacturer services, including the integration between specialty mail and community retail pharmacies.
Kelsey Wills is our Senior Vice President, National Sales. Her most recent roles were Oncology Sales Specialist at AstraZeneca in the lung cancer franchise and as Senior Sales Specialist, Rheumatology, with Janssen Biotech. Kelsey has over ten years of industry experience, a majority of those spent with Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy, serving as National Sales Director, Immunology (which included HCV and CID). In that role she successfully led an internal and external sales team, generating significant new sales revenue by providing need-based specific solutions to patients, healthcare providers, and pharmaceutical partners. Working closely with the Industry Relations, Managed Markets, Operations, Clinical, and Marketing departments, she created opportunities with external partners to generate best in class programs. Kelsey is a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Public Administration, Public Policy.
Barb Putignano has over 25 year of healthcare industry experience including various aspects in both specialty pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industries. Currently, Barb is the Vice President, Business Development. In her current role, she oversees the hub sales and services group responsible for retail and pharmaceutical clients, product development, client implementation and services.
Previously,, Barb spent 10 years at Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy, most recently leading the sales and operations in the Rare Disease area (Cystic Fibrosis). Other specialty experiences included Account Management, Strategy, Trade Relations, and leading Clinical Services. Additionally, Barb spent 13 years with Eli Lilly and Company. She is a graduate of Duquesne School of Pharmacy, Pittsburgh, PA.
Currently, Barb serves on the Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Western PA Chapter and is Secretary for the Duquesne University Pharmacy Alumni Board.
Brent Hubble joined Meijer in 2015 and oversees Clinical Program Development including the development and maintenance of Meijer’s best in class patient care programs. Previously, Brent was Director of Managed Markets for Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy and was responsible for the clinical and account management of 12.2 million covered health plan lives. He assisted over 200 health plans in clinical cost analysis, utilization trends, assisting with transitions of new business, and presenting clinical programs for managing specialty populations. Brent was also the primary architect of Diplomat’s clinical program software suite, called eNav, including development of all clinical pathways for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Oncology, Hepatitis C, Crohn’s Disease, and other rare diseases. Brent is a graduate of the Ferris State University with a Doctorate in Pharmacy.
